Whether the cause is a few long days or too many restless nights, dark circles and puffy eyes can leave you looking and feeling like you’re in a slump.

The most common cause of puffy eyes and dark circles under the eyes is hyperinsulinemia, which means that you have too much insulin in your blood.

If you have insulin resistance, you retain a lot of fluid all over the body, including the eyes. Carbs also cause the retention of sodium and a deficiency of potassium. 

These are the most effective things you can do to get rid of puffy eyes and dark circles:

  • Stop eating carbs
  • Start doing intermittent fasting
  • Start taking potassium or consume foods high in potassium
