Vitamin C Serum and Summer

Vitamin C Serum and Summer

Vitamin C Serum and Summer

Hi Everyone, Tina here (+1 662 830 8246, info@nakedactives.com)

Now that the summer is here I thought it would be a good time to explain the importance of using our Vitamin C serum. I think we are all guilty of getting a sunburn from time to time, even the most diligent of sunscreen users have fallen victim. So now that you got a burn, what’s the best way to heal your skin and keep it looking young and fresh?

What is Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is a vitamin, meaning your body can’t produce it naturally. Yet, it has many roles and has been linked to impressive health benefits. It’s water-soluble and found in many fruits and vegetables, including oranges, kiwi fruit, strawberries, broccoli, bell peppers, kale, and spinach.

The recommended daily intake for vitamin C is 75 mg for women and 90 mg for men. I suggest that you get your Vitamin C from a mix of food intake and applying our Vitamin C Serum topically.

What is a Sunburn?

Sunburn is an inflammatory reaction to ultraviolet (UV) radiation damage to the skin’s outermost layers. Essentially it is all melanin, a pigment that gives your skin it's color and defends it against the sun’s rays. Melanin works by darkening your unprotected sun-exposed skin.

The Dangers of Sunburns

Sunburn hurts you more than just one way. The danger goes far beyond any short-term pain, discomfort and, redness because after the sunburn fades, lasting damage remains. Sunburn accelerates skin aging and is a leading cause in the majority of cases of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma, the deadliest form of skin disease.

How Vitamin C Treats and Prevents Burns

As far as your skin is concerned, vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals. Because of its antioxidant properties, vitamin C aids in your skin's natural regeneration process, which helps your body repair damaged skin cells.

Antioxidants prevent or reduce damage to our cells by neutralizing the production of highly reactive molecules called free radicals. In other words, antioxidants help keep our body and our skin cells healthy.

This free-radical combat isn't just important for helping to keep signs of premature aging at bay. In neutralizing these free radicals, Vitamin C helps protect skin from diseases changes caused by UV exposure.

My Recommendation

A topical daily Vitamin C Serum coupled with broad-spectrum sunscreen every single day—rain or shine, indoors or outdoors—can’t be understated. It’s the key to preventing skin diseases, sun spots, painful burns, wrinkles and fine lines, and collagen depletion. When you pair your sunscreen with our Vitamin C Serum, one of the best antioxidants in the game, you essentially double-down on all those skin protecting benefits.
